As shown in SDGs, achieving sustainable development is no easy task as the goals and the targets are closely linked. Therefore, this book selects and examines two closely linked areas of energy and environment. Energy and environment is specifically chosen because the means of exploiting energy has most direct impact on the environment, such as pollution, deforestation and among others, carbon dioxide (CO2) emission, which is identified to be the key cause climate change. Furthermore, energy is also an essential area which is closely linked to national growth and security. Therefore, it is important to examine and study the policies that could harmonize the seemingly contradicting areas of energy and environment. A new approach is required to meet the ever-increasing global energy demand while preserving the environment. In the following two sections, ten papers are presented: four papers on energy and environmental policy; and six papers on green energy economics and policy.
